Cave Les 3 Saints: Humagne Rouge
Linda and Damien Roh are the owners of the estate Domaine Les 3 Saints in Aven, Valais, a young estate founded in 2008. Today we present their Humagne Rouge. This grape variety is native to the Valais. In this wine, you find finesse and fruit, with little extraction of tannins and color. The wine is digestible, fruity and fresh. We like to have more of this!
The Meylans belong to an old family from the canton of Vaud, which has had its family seat on La Côte since 1689. It was not until 1968 to see the first bottling on the estate under the guidance of Charles-Henri.
Describes the process of cutting the superfluous shoots (green branches that a vine grows every year) and giving the vine a direction for the future harvest. Pruning takes mainly place from December to March during its vegetative rest. The earlier the pruning starts, the more the plant is stimulated to bud early, which can be dangerous in case of frost and threaten the future harvest.
